Artist Statement

My idea behind this piece was to show how some people escape from society and how some people struggle with todays society. How its okay to not be with your friends all the time and being alone sometimes is okay. I was also trying to show how a lot of people with some bad mental health such as anxiety and/or depression, may feel this more than the average person.

I made almost everything on this poster using BLICK brush markers and colored pencils. I made the instagram icon in colored pencil which is why it looks different compared to the other ones. I didn't think I could pull of the blending with the markers.

Some processes I went through making this was how I wanted to show the same set up of room on the darker side but I had to make different shades for the walls so it looks like the other side of the room just darker. I also struggled with what to put in the bottom right corner but ended up just adding a charger for the phone.
