Bristol Board with colored pencil
Artist Statement
The main idea of this piece was to show the male and female American Black Duck and what there main habitat looks like. I also wanted to make this look as real as possible or almost like a picture.
I made this using colored pencils on Bristol board paper. When I use colored pencils I use the white one to blend the colors a little better and if I need to mix the colors the white pencil makes it a lot easier and give everything a smoother color and texture.
Some processes i went through was figuring out what pictures I wanted to use for the male and female duck. I also went through some processes on how to create the water so it looks realistic. I also went through a few options for the background and for ground. The little weeds on the side in the front were one of the last things I did and i think it pulled it together a lot more.
