The main idea that guided this was to represent 2023's superbowl using a different material (the football) and something that showed the dancers and Rihanna

I used acrylic paint on a football. I started with a few coats of white paint, pencil to sketch it out, acrylic for color and a black paint marker to outline everything. I then sprayed a clear coat on top so it wouldnt wear down

I knew I wanted to do something involving Rihanna but I knew I couldnt just copy a picture of her.  also wanted to use something different which is when I thought of the football. Then i went bakc and fourth between doing a detailed painting and a blocky painting and went with blocky.
