Linoleum Print

My idea that drove this piece is how much I love the ocean and being able to cruise around during the summer and go to different islands. I also used to love to draw sunsets when I was younger and i still do so i though this would be a good simple design to carve and print.

I made the stamp by carving out the pieces I didn't want showing on my design on a piece of linoleum . Then I took some ink and rolled it on top. After this I layed the paper on top and put some pressure on for a clean transfur of the ink onto the paper. Then I slowly pealed off the piece of drawing paper and let it dry.

A process I went through was deciding what parts I wanted to carve out. I ended up making a few stamps and picked out the one that I thought would turn out the best. I also had a slight thought that this design could be too simple but after playing around with it for a little and adding more details I think it turned out better than I thought.
