Final Product, "Hollywood Pasta"

Hollywood California

First I was overwhelmed with how to use all of the box. So I decided to just start cutting the box and I would work from there. I had been listening to a podcast at the time and the people who do the podcast both live in Hollywood California, this is also somewhere I would like to live someday so that is what I decided to do. Then I cut up all of the blue spots into triangles and pasted them onto the background. I then cut out all of the other aspects and pasted them on accordingly ending with the "HOLLYWOOD" letters. Finally I pasted everything I had used in the front on the back.

An element of design I had in mind while replicating my deconstruction was color. I knew I had to have color so the viewer could differentiate and really see where it was supposed to be in the drawing or it wouldn't look like the collage.

A struggle I had with this piece was cutting stuff out, because everything is so small. This was really tricky because I was using a dull exacto knife all of the letters were so small, and if I messed up on anything, there wasn't enough white left on the box to go redo it. I am really happy with how this turned out and I am most proud of the depth you get by looking at it, however you can't really see this through the pictures.
