Linear Perspective Shapes (First Project)
Linear Perspective made up room
(Second Project)
Linear Perspective School Hallway
(Final Project)
This assignment was all about working on our linear perspective skills. In the first assignment we had a 9x12 piece of paper, we drew a horizon line and a vanishing point. Then we drew ten shapes altogether five above the horizon line and five below. Next we got another 9x12 piece of paper and were asked to draw a room of our own imagination. We had a few requirements, we had 2 chairs, a table, 1 wall shelf an open door and windows or wall art. Finally once the practice was done we started on our final piece. Once again we got a 9x12 piece of paper. We were instructed to draw one of the hallways in the school. We then took a picture and sort of transferred the picture to our paper using our newly obtained skills. I recreated the new/latin wing student lounge. Than I started going over the lines with a thin line to make it more defined.
These assignments were all about lines. As they are entirely constructed by lines and scale. Lines were 100% of all these pieces. Another big aspect was shape. If the original shape of an object wasn't to scale than it would offset the whole drawing. In the second project space was a big aspect because I didn't want the page to look blank but I also didn't want to crowd it. As there was no picture to reference this with, this became sort of a challenge.
Another challenge was getting the scale right in the last project. I redid the window at the end and the lockers several time to get it to look 'right'. In the end I think it turned out pretty good. I am most proud of my second project because that was the first time I have drawn a room. The last project was kind of sterile which made me like the first one that much more. I definitely would hang out in that garage.
