Time capsules

These were created for the annual time capsule drawings, and I think they are my best ones yet. (I mean you'd hope so right). The idea behind this work was to create 3 different sketches after we were given a prompt. The first one was to create an angle up self portrait, the second was to draw an object you despise and the third was to draw the exterior of a building. I had fun drawing the hair on the self portrait and think it might be my best self portrait yet, and it only took like 20-ish minutes. I think the mask came out nice and I'm really pleased with how DER looks. (I work there, that's why I chose it).

This was made entirely with graphite.

It was difficult to draw realistically as that is something I really hate doing, I like to take the Dr. Seuss approach, in that I can't draw or paint realistically, so I don't. The mask was probably the hardest to draw because of all the shadows and paper lines. But I really liked drawing DER and it has inspired my AP sustained investigation.
