This was my first time ever using oil sticks and we really had very little instruction on this assignment, we basically went outside with oil sticks and just drew. I really enjoyed using them as a medium and I channeled my inner Basquiat, but I'm not wicked pleased with how this turned out. But I also slightly blame the oil sticks because they were very hard to use and crack open. I drew some trees that I saw on the other side of the track and then I used my fingers to blend it.

I used strictly oil sticks on this project because that was the assignment. Like I said, I thoroughly enjoyed the oil sticks and will use them again. Then we just used big watercolor paper as the backing.

I really enjoyed using the oil sticks because they're very unlike anything else I have used, they're probably most closely related to oil pastels but not in the same league at all. I would like to continue to use and experiment with this medium.
