What is your definition of identity? And did it change throughout the project?
My definition of identity is what and who influences me as a person and what factors help shape who I am. This changed throughout the project from personal items of mine, to family/community, to self. This helped me see how things change and that identity is not classified by one set thing and varies from person to person.
Which lesson feels the most successful to you and why?
The lesson about family identity seemed the most successful to me because I was more proud of the image and final result as opposed to the other 2 lessons. I was able to have my thoughts become a reality. I preferred starting the assignments at home instead of trying to rush it at the beginning of class. I feel that this gave me more time to find the images I was looking for and fulfill my vision than having a rushed image I was not confident in.
Which lesson was the most challenging and why?
I found the photoshop seld portrait the most challenging because I struggled a lot to retain the process of how to actually create the image properly. When I wanted to fix something I had a hard time trying to backtrack or fix a small thing without ruining what I had already created.
If you were tasked with photographing your identity again, what would you do similarly and different?
Identity was not my favorite unit just because there's always a lot going on and it's difficult to comfortably pinpoint identity, especially with family, school, and work.
Finally, please include any feedback for this unit!
