Ceramics 2

Do you feel like your experience in Ceramics II was successful.?

Yes, I do feel that my experience in ceramics 2 was successful because I have learned a lot of new things and been able to push myself further than I thought I could and still come out with a decent end product.

What was the hardest thing for you in taking this course? How did you overcome this difficulty to be successful?

The hardest thing for me in taking this course was being patient when it came to. I overcame this by planning, letting the clay dry enough for me to be able to assemble it properly, and being patient when glazing.

What was your favorite project this year? Why?

My favorite project this year was my eccentric teapot because it took me the most time to make and I had put the most thought into it. It took planning and trial and error when it came to glazes as well as the general construction of the piece.

What was your least favorite? Why?

My least favorite was probably the duality one because it didn't come out the way I hoped it would. It also was very difficult for me to assemble because I waited too long to hollow it out and piece it together which made it fall apart. That made it increasingly difficult for me to do and I ended up having a hole in the side which I was able to fill in with the glaze.

In terms of the way the class was run…

A) What worked for you and ….

I liked that we were able to branch out and be creative with fewer restrictions and guidelines because we were able to make our own mistakes and learn for ourselves but still get the necessary help when needed.

B) What would you like see done differently

There's not really anything I can think of. The only thing I didn't really care for was the research portion of the class which can still be important.
