For this unit, we focussed on different point perspectives. We worked on different line perspective drawings. The 1 and 2 point linear perspectives we focused more on 2D shapes and then making the 2D shapes look 3D. I found making the 3D drawings a lot harder than I thought they would be. You can see the areas where I did my best to erase all of my extra lines when I made some mistakes. But mistakes are proof you are trying and I tried really hard. You can also see some of the lines on most of the 4 pieces that all lead to the vanishing point. Th evanishing point is what we were focussing on drawing our lines to in all of these pieces. These projects relate to my life because they were very difficult for me to complete and I thought I wasn’t going to be able to do them. I do my best in life not to give up when things get hard so these projects were a good example of why I should never give up. The end result turned out way better than I thought they would especially for my hallway drawing.
For our 1 point perspective, 2 point perspective, and our drawing of a room, we used a piece of 9x12 in paper and Hb and number 3 pencil to create our images and add differing line weights. For the hall perspective piece that we did, I used a 12x16 piece of paper, an HB and a number 2 pencil. I used the HB mostly for shading in darker areas. For all of these pieces, I also used a ruler/straight edge to make sure all of my lines were straight and where they were supposed to be.
On the 1 and 2 point line perspectives, You can see all of the extra erased lines that lead to the vanishing point. This shows the process of how the pieces were created. For some of the squares that I had drawn, I had to erase and start over because they didn’t all fit in the same area when I went through the process of drawing all of the lines to the vanishing point. For my linear perspective room, I did my best to incorporate all of the things on the list of required things we needed to include in our drawing. Things like chairs and couches were hard for me to draw because I was still confused on the last concept of the 2 point line perspective. I ended up watching videos on youtube to help me understand what to do and how to do it correctlyIf I were to do these projects again, I would make sure that I focused on getting the main concepts down from the 3d first before completing the pieces. I would want to make sure that I knew what I was doing so that I didn’t have to resort to youtube to correctly complete the assignment. All of the pieces we did tie together in a way. The 1 point was the base for what we need to know to create the 2 point line perspective. The 2 point perspective helped me with the room and the hallway knowing where to put my lines and how to make it look real.
