For this piece, I decided to do a sort of blend of pink and orange in the background and I tried to make the letters relating to growth and positive things drawn on the letters to go with the theme of kindness. This project relates to my life because I tried to get it to send a good message to people who look at it. This relates to me because I do my best to stay positive and spread positivity to whoever I am around.
I used a variety of different materials for this project. Some of these include computer paper, watercolor paper, markers, scissors, spray bottle, glue stick, alcohol, modge podge a pen, and a pencil.
To start, I took one of the doodle for google templates that we were given and I cut the individual letters out. I then took the markers and made a sort of checkered pattern on a piece of watercolor paper that I cut to fit in the space given on the template. I then sprayed the design with alcohol which sort of blended the colors a little. I then used my glue stick to glue the watercolor paper onto another template paper. After that, I outlined each of the precut letters with a pen and drew positive designs in each of them. I then glue them onto the watercolor paper, put modge podge over it, and called it good. In the future, if I were to do this project again I would try to use different paper then the watercolor paper that I have because it Was more like drawing paper and didn’t blend as well as regular watercolor paper or canvas.
