WhatchmaDRAWit

For my WhatchamaDRAWit my challenge was to draw a box with no corners. I wasn't quite sure how to attempt this challenge so I tried to curve all the areas that would normally have corners. I couldn't think of a way to draw it 3D without it having corners so I made is 2D. I chose the draw a box with no corners card because it seemed the most interesting. It relates to my life because it is confusing and makes you think and I am always up for a challenge.

I used a 5 ½” x 7 ¾” space of a piece of computer paper to draw on. I started sketching the bag with a number 2 pencil and drew a rectangle with curves at the vertices. I also drew curved straps too before I continued any further. After that I started to color the bag with an orangish color Crayola crayon. I went over the orange with a green Crayola crayon to make it look more like a gator bag. I then colored the straps gray because it is a more neutral color and it matched the color of the bag. I then used a purple Crayola crayon to try to make some sort of leopard print on top front of the bag. It did not end up looking the way I hoped. It looked more of a black color than a purple color but I tried.

I did experiment a little bit with the sketches. I started by trying to draw different variations of bags then erasing the corners. I had to try many different things to meet the criteria. I considered making a 3D model but still couldn’t wrap my head around how to make it without corners so I stayed with something simple. My drawing evolved when I started trying to blend the colors together to get the desired color I was looking for. When I added the leopard print it added more details to the bag making it look a little better. In the future, I should try to take a step back and think about the task through a different perspective. Then I may be able to try and make the drawing appear 3D with shading and adding more details.
