Collages

For this assignment, we were tasked with making a collage using old magazines. I had no method to create this piece whatsoever other than trying to fill the page. I added text to the background to fill the black space and add some kind of texture. After we assembled these collages we scanned them into black and white and inverted them. Then they got printed onto semi-transparent negatives which we used to create prints. We lined up the 2 negatives of the same picture and made test strips for them. I then chose to expose it for 5 seconds and created a final print. I did this for both of the images to get my final print. I did not want there to be a lot of negative space in the images. The text of the robot print seemed to have more negative space which was less than ideal in my opinion. The text I chose for it was just more of an old fashion newspaper type so it showed up lighter than the one with the bolder printed text.
