PRESENTATION 1
Environmental Design - local community space/garden
This community space was to make better use of the neglected site on the corner of Hughes Lane and Bowmore Street in Hughesdale. The intimate 10m x 6m indoor space which incorporates features of the surrounding California bungalow houses as well as organic forms includes a range of seating options that encourage both socialisation and individual relaxation in addition to a small, practical storage space. The outdoor community garden makes use of organic forms in contrast to the surrounding environment and literally reflects the council’s increased efforts around sustainability. The site aimed to excite members of the community and encourage them to get outside and be active in containing spaces and activities that engage all.
PRESENTATION 2
Communication Design - invitation to space
This fun invitation which will be sent out to members of the surrounding streets through a letterbox drop is to excite all people equally to come and make use of the space that has been revamped specifically for them. It must inform people of the details of the space through information including the location and may be interactive, being unique in shape but also containing an item that further encourages people to not only come, but engage in the space.
