AMES Australia

A well established, charity organisation, centred around providing support for newly arrived refugees. They’ve played a vital role over the last 60 years in the settling of hundreds of thousands of new arrivals and will continue to provide a comprehensive range of settlement services for refugees and migrants.

PRESENTATION 1

Environmental Design - Temporary housing for asylum seekers

Transitional housing accommodation designed for refugees that have been welcomed into Australia. With 6 individual units on the one site space, the residents will be given a kick start to their future in Australia, with each unit accommodating for a range of family sizes though its modular, faceted design. New to the area, the collection of homes were required to possess a unique, visual identity as well as fostering strong community values.

PRESENTATION 2

Communication Design - Promotional poster

Seeks to inform the audience about the global refugee crisis, with a focus on both increasing awareness as well as procuring an influx of support toward the company. AMES hopes to see an increase in donations received from the public, which in turn will allow them to fund more support services, housing for refugees and to increase the quality of work that they provide. The poster must encourage support for AMES’s work, grasp the attention of the audience through the text and graphics of the poster, and provide easy access to their website.
