SIMPLICITY

Encompassing the theme of Simplicity, my artworks portray the normality and ordinary nature of simple objects, places and feelings of everyday life. I wanted to celebrate the beauty in the mundane by capturing basic scenarios that can be unfolded and brought to life through the celebration of colour. From the depictions of candid places that hold meaning to me and their subsequent everyday objects, to explanations of natural life and the complexity they hold when more closely observed, together my artworks explain a progression of basic to complex. The central artwork combats the simplicity around it, demonstrating the chaos I felt during the creative process of Studio Arts. Portraying simple emotions through the use of colour and pattern, the disorganised artwork aims to contrast with its surrounding pieces, whilst also tying them together.
