Revenants

Intention

For my music video, I plan to explore the genre of romance and coming-of-age. My music video will be made for the song Revenants which was written by my good friend Cormac Fleming. This music video will be inspired by various LGBT+ films as it is LGBT+ based, musical artists from the past, present and future and hobbies and interests of Cormac. My main idea is that Cormac, the main character, will be watching his crush (a male) from a distance go out and live their life without him in the picture. The two will have photographs together loitered as if they’re already friends. This establishes the two have a connection before their climatic interaction. I want the audience to think about if they’ve been in a similar situation to Cormac as I feel it’s a pretty common situation, especially in a time where social media is prevalent and it’s easy to digitally connect. I am going to explore this by showing Cormac is alone and isolated in various locations. I am making this product out of interest and to help Cormac out. He’s a young musician trying to make a footprint in the music industry and we both have a shared interest in music. Hopefully the music video will produce more of an audience for him as people love music videos, especially homemade ones which aren’t the most professional. Other work that has inspired my ideas include artist’s work such as Rex Orange County, Clairo and Boy Pablo.
