Today, we'll start using a block-based programming environment.
This will be one of the major things we work with this semester.
Through this, you'll learn the basic concepts of programming.

Basics of Programming
Many of y'all are likely familiar with Scratch. It's a good block-based programming environment, but I don't generally promote it. There's nothing wrong with it, but there are aspects that I like better about Microsoft's MakeCode; specifically that they support and host Game Jams.
Check out MakeCode's Game Jam page here:

The other block based programming environment I generally recommend is Snap!, associated with UC Berkley. I like Snap! because they offer an inexpensive online conference each summer. Conferences are commonly used in the professional world, and if you're interested in programming, computers, and/or stem, it's something worth looking into and considering.

Follow along with the video below to get to today's task.
Complete the tutorial, make a video showing it works.
Take a video of this, add the video to your slide for today. You can start screen record by pressing Command + Shift + 5 .
To add video to your slide, you'll need to first upload it Google Drive, then you can use the Insert drop down menu to add it to your slide. Make sure the sharing settings on your video are set to public.
HTML is not a major focus at this point in time... but if you don't keep using something... you will likely forget it.
So, let's keep using a bit of HTML here and there.
We're going to make a simple page to document some of our learning in MakeCode.
Add a screenshot of your .html page to your slide for today.
