Let's finish our look at the Petz titles.
If you haven't decided what you want to make for your ePet yet... then you'll have a hard time with this. You need to decide on what you're going to make so you can move forward. As you move through school, and join clubs and organizations, I encourage you to think about whether they help you specifically with your goal- are they related and relevant to what you want to do in the future?
Think about what you may want to do in the future... what sort of jobs or occupations you're interested in. Are the clubs and organizations you're involved aligned with that?
You only have so much time, so if not, you may what to reconsider where you use your time. Not everything has to be focused on career, but hopefully at least some things are.
Sometimes you can also ask this about projects you do in school. As you approach working on projects, I do recommend that they consider whether the project could be beneficial for their portfolio. Could creating a virtual pet in Snap! help with that? The obvious choices for virtual pets are a cat or dog, but maybe you could choose something more fitting for your portfolio with a bit of creativity.
If you want to be a marine biologist, could your virtual pet be some sort of marine animal, where you could help show knowledge and interest in marine animals? Do you want to be a politician? Maybe your ePet is a bill or policy you want to pass, and you need to feed it members of congress to get it passed. If you want to be a virologist, could your virtual pet be a little virus cell you have to take care of? If you want to be an astrophysist, maybe its a star that you take care of through the star life cycle? If you want to be a roboticist, could it be a little robot to take care of? Do you want to study music? Could your virtual pet be a baby version of your favorite musician? Do you want to be an architect? Maybe your virtual pet is a house or building that's come to life.
Think about what you're interested in doing and if you could base your idea off something relevant. It's your choice, but just something to think about.
For this part, you may need to make multiple slides, or a document to link in your slide.
Find 3 resources related to virtual pets (modern or historical) that you think are interested or helpful.
For each:
- provide the title of the resources
- provide the url
- tell me why you think its interesting or potentially helpful
Find 3 resources specifically relevant and potentially helpful to your idea or plan.
For each:
- provide the title of the resources
- provide the url
- tell me why you think its relevant and potentially helpful
On your slide for today add:
- a screenshot of your typing practice
- the six links you found for research
Keep thinking about what you want to create as a virtual pet, what your goal for it is, and what sort of interactions it may have.
