What do you want to be when you grow up?
What's your plan for the future?
Regardless of where you want to go, or even if you aren't sure... are you approaching your daily life and schooling with the right attitude to help you succeed in whatever future you decide?
Earlier in the year, you took a short survey. I informed you that we'd revisit it a few times throughout the year.
Completion of the survey is for a grade, but not specifically what you answer. Think about the questions and answer them based on what you believe to be true.

On today's slide, discuss the following
1.a) In regards to school in general, how did your fall semester go? Explain.
b) Specifically related to this course, how do you feel about your choices and their results for last semester? Explain.
2) Regarding academic goals: Academic goals include IB, HS endorsements, scholarships, college/university acceptances, university or work place readiness, graduating of course, and many other possible academic goals you may have for yourself.
a) What endorsement/s do you plan to earn in high school?
b) Do you intend to take the IB DP or IB CP in 11th/12th grade?
c) What other academic goals do you have for yourself? Explain.
3) Life in general: There are, of course, things you should reflect on regarding pretty much everything you do, but we’d be here all day or longer if I asked about everything. Consider where else you spend your time throughout your day, and reflect on how beneficial it is or isn’t for you, your goals, and your future. Consider how you can change or improve the things you aren’t satisfied with.
Yesterday, we played with Light-bot. In Light-bot, we program our robot using icons or symbols that we drop into a panel to create the program. Today, we'll start a different online activity- Karel the Robot.
With Karel, we'll have to type in the commands instead of using icons. Watch the video below for a bit more information.
Go to: Stanford Karel >>
Go to the Programs Section of Stanford Karel for today's tasks.
The first two are just tutorials, but lessons 3, 4, 5, and 6 (these are links, you can click the to go there directly) each have a goal to complete. Complete these, and take a screenshot or a little video showing the program that'll correctly complete each task. Add these screenshots (or videos) to this week's slides.
You can add an additional slide for today if you need more space.
If you finish early, you can play more with Light-Bot, or investigate Karel more.
