We're going to keep using some of the basic tools to continue getting acquainted with and learning the basics of 3D and Blender. Some of the tools we'll use we played with in previous classes, others are new. Follow along, this was inspired by the Monument au Fantome, but yours doesn't have to resemble it- mine didn't really in the end anyway.
As you work through today's task, you should be extensively utilizing the following tools:
- extrude,
- move,
- rotate,
- scale
Follow along with me at the start, as you continue, you can deviate to create your own.
I didn't finish, but I went a bit further with it. I could see maybe changing this into a graveyard with a spooky tree or something instead. Notice I have distorted and twisting shapes that also branch out- yours should also feature distorted, twisting, and branching structures.
Kind of up to you what direction you want to take it in, just make sure you're using the different tools I demonstrated.
Follow along first, then deviate to create your own abstract sculpture, using similar methods to what I did. You have almost a whole class period for this, so it should be pretty complex.
You could also decide to turn this into some weird forest or landscape if you wanted. Perhaps a landscape or forest from Phred's home planet.
Add a screenshot of your finished abstract sculpture to your slides for today.
