The Adventurers all arrive at the Howl’s third garrison, to join the fight against the beasts of the wilderness and the Wilderman’s army. They were all admitted into the Howl’s ranks, and have now been unexpectedly summoned to the commander’s quarters.
Commander Tulach tells them that they are to form a group known as the ‘Wolves of the Howl’ that will carry out missions in the wilderness while the the bulk of the Howl’s forces fight the Wilderman. The group is sent to investigate recent beast activity and the ruins they leave behind.
The group departs, and after meeting a few fellows, they save a druid named Golguse Hatrim, a human druid posing as a follower of the ghost grove. He describes that he and many other druids are heading west to ‘The Gathering’, where they wish to rebuild both the druid groves and nature itself. He also gives Grub a message, implying he is actually a follower of Jin’cale.
The group departs and find the remnants of Dewmosk, completely charred and ashen. They follow a trail that leads them to a confrontation with a being later known as Dark Matter, that is defeated by Gareth. The source of Dark Matter came from an incapacitated half-elf, whom they took back to the garrison.
During the weeks after the mission, the young half-elf was identified as Zeris Vlanir, who had been possessed to destroy the villages by a low god named 0. Zeris appeals to the commander that he will do anything to atone for his sins, so the commander assigns him to the group, to be held in high suspicion that he may return to his evil nature.
Grub apologizes to the lone survivor of the attack on Dewmosk, and she comes with him to live with the Howl. Two mysterious men also join the Howl as well, while also being at risk of being found by the Sunday Knight. The group continues to carry out missions with the Howl, and they completely win over the trust of the commander (or so it seems).
