Tellig Tulach is the son of the founder of Moray, Taog Tulach, and was the Commander of the Howl's Third Garrison for over a decade. Tellig has led a life besieged by conflict, regret, and difficult moral decisions.
He grew up in the island nation of Moray, and secretly was witness to multiple meetings between Taog and the Jointed Styx; meetings which led to changes in Moray's governance resulting in the exodus of the followers of the Denmer Code and the rise of the religion of Atarius in Moray. Tellig resolved to abandon his claim to the throne and leave with his fiancee Joanna Orlas to the mainland, however to do so safely (and avoid the Jointed Styx), he made a deal with the Sisterhood of Ghosts which led to his father's death.
As the Howl's Third Garrison Commander, he took in Gareth Turnkey and allowed him to conduct research on the Wilderman while under his watch. Tulach made a deal with Ronvik at the beginning of his career as Howl Garrison Commander dividing up the lands of the Wilderness. This deal was made under duress, however he still punishes himself for it.
Tulach was relieved of his position by Queen Rhea Vandran of Pluvia, and left to his own Getaway Village where he established the Westward Fellowship and later married Joanna Orlas.
After his wedding was crashed by the Wilderman himself, he went on a journey to Orchian to find the Fountain of Fossils so he could track his wife and the wedding guests. He learned about the Four Divines and Nath, and also that the Wilderman is currently in the ruins of Nuwel. At the Fountain of Fossils, he gave up his memories of the deal he made with the Sisterhood of Ghosts in order to clear his conscience.
Upon arriving at the reconstruction site of Nuwel, he was reunited with his wife, and learned that she is willingly in Nuwel because she realized that the Wilderman has the right ideas. She and the other wedding guests have joined his army as they plan to defend the Wilderness from the invading Lurisian armies, and the covert infiltrations of the Jointed Styx. Conflicted, Tellig fled with Donaleustopher Aristopholestipheles XVII to the Green Highlands to update the Westward Fellowship on all that has transpired.
Tellig Tulach was later revealed to have suffered a grievous injury on the way to the Howl, one beyond even the limits of healing by the most experienced life cleric in all of the Howl, Father Johannes Luwensan the Undying...at least without Promethium. Johannes, along with Sun Starman, Julius Dolkolge and Caroline Weche, journeyed to find and retrieve this ingredient so Johannes could attempt the surgery necessary to save Tulach from the brink of death. However, after a plot by the current Commander Bower was revealed, the plan changed to instead extract Tulach from the HQ and bring him to a hideout in Egdallev known as The Volcano, where Johannes will operate on him in secret, and then urge him to join in their revolt against Bower. Tulach is a well-liked individual who can easily summon banners in support of him, and is a good bet for a central figure to rally behind. Johannes and Julius hope, at least...
Tellig is a tall, brawny man with reddish-brown hair, a large beard, and laugh crinkles in the corners of his eyes. He carries a large shield and wears very thick armour, usually wielding a battleaxe. He usually has a courteous and jovial demeanor with a consistent air of professionalism, but recent events have caused him to grow more serious and grave.
