Five years ago, Spook left the Crownlands escorted by a knight named Donovan Watch. Spook had a different name back then, but he has since forgotten it.
When Spook left, he was a young man working as a resource analyst. He would go out and analyze various portions of the Wilderness to determine if they would be profitable for his clients to establish mining operations. This was his first unsupervised expedition.
One week in, Watch took ill from rotting provisions. Two weeks in, Spook had to abandon his dying protector to escape bandits. Between being extremely lost and knowing very few consumable plants, Spook was very fortunate to survive long enough to be attacked by goblins. The good news is that after the goblin tribe captured him, they tortured him for weeks. The goblins would have killed him had he not attacked the tribe leader while being tortured for information; the leader saw something in Spook, something wild that wanted to roam free.
For the next year, Spook trained with the Ghost Grave and learned many secrets of the Wilderness. He actually enjoyed his time with the goblins; however, Spook’s joy faded after an attack led by Zornish Knights forced Spook to flee from his tribe. His flight from danger only plunged him further into peril as he found himself in the Heibach Mire. Here, Spook experienced a primal change; whether it was the magic that flowed through that cursed Swamp or his inner demons manifesting, Spook devolved into a beast driven by pure instinct.
Spook exited the Wilderness four years later, having abandoned the young man he used to be somewhere deep within.
