Marvin Dulcimer is a bard from the College of Moray who studied the Denmer Code. He is a member of the Westward Fellowship and knows the true identity of the Wilderman, as well as of the existence of the Four Divines and the connection between Corrus, Atarius and Domecus. He is a handsome young human man with buoyant red hair and his signature instrument (a dulcimer) usually carried on his back. He has a generally confident attitude when engaging with others, as he is very secure in his ideology, the Denmer Code, and how it relates to life and death as a general philosophy. When in combat, he is ruthless and unyielding, not afraid to end the battle by killing his opponent.
In the Last Archives, he learned that the only people who have successfully reincarnated themselves are Wraiths of the Denmer Code. While he was initially disheartened by this fact, he later resolved that he would make it his personal quest to be the first to be reincarnated without being a Wraith. After Lysarius Vandran attempted to bring the Westward Fellowship, he and the rest of his companions escaped to the Green Highlands to a Crypt of Zorn likely to be home to the Onyx Blade.
Marvin Dulcimer later witnessed Astrik and Jinx apparently murder Virtue (and try to murder Steve) in the Crypt of Blackyon Roy, and after Virtue's death, teleport away. Marvin destroyed his dulcimer and burned off his hair with his Sunblade, and solemnly flew away on Saffron to pursue his now enemies in retribution.
Later, Marvin appeared on Saffron's back flying to Greth Summit where the Gathering of the Four Divines took place, and saved Opus Magnus from the True Foundation Hawks right when Opus was close to death. Marvin then searched for Jinx, but Opus (and later Jinx) convinced him that he was innocent, which Opus could attest to from how the power of the Dagger manifested itself when he attacked Lucius. Marvin cooled off, and participated in Jinx's Gathering in attempt to bring back Jonathan. After that failed, and Nath's villainy was established to him as well, he saw a desperate Astrik trying still to kill Ronvik, and lopped off his head with his Sunblade.
