Chapman is a halfling who was squire to Sir Hogman Billows of Ulvick. Sir Hogman was killed by the Sisterhood of Ghosts at Taog Tulach's wreckage site in the Yawnish Strand, as the Sisterhood gave Chapman Tulach's head in exchange for Hogman's. Chapman returned to Ulvick with the head, but afterwards became a monk and founded the Holy Chain of Zornacles at Greth Summit, after he had visions revealing that the Knights of Zorn's true purpose is to serve the deity Zorn, not to be glorified mercenaries.
At the Summit, he reformed the Order, and eventually ended the practice of training Knights of Zorn, limiting them to the few remaining (namely Virtue, Faith and Colmar Cloudwing). He and a handful of other monks tend to the Last Archives, a library containing secret knowledge about the Great Empire, the realm and the universe, and established a scrying test which people who want to enter the Archives must pass.
He met the Westward Fellowship and allowed them access to the Archives for their quest after they were deemed worthy, but also pleaded with them to go with Lysarius Vandran and the Lurisians, who were holding his monastery hostage and who killed one of his fellow monks. They ignored his pleas and escaped via a Teleportation Circle.
Chapman Luwen also enjoys meditating while being walked on by his cats.
