Queen Alice Vandran is from a rare race of High Elves from far west of the realm. She and her family of green-eyed, fair elves under the Vandran name have established themselves as leaders of the most dominant new nations in the realm today. With a focus on strong, centralized governments, rapid innovation and expansionist policies, Lurisia and to a lesser extent, Pluvia, have become rising powers in the realm on track to rival the Old Empire. Alice Vandran herself is an enigma, always scheming in the background but rarely showing her face or staying in one place for long. She has black hair and a beautiful appearance, and is usually seen in a blue cloak. She is referred to as the Queen of the Realm or the Mother of the World by her subordinates. She has such an imposing presence that the leader of Ulvick, Lord Alphonse Ulvick, gifted her Taog Tulach's head as a gift just to prove that they are one of her most loyal supporters.
The Queen also lent the Illithids of the Green Highlands some of her forces, allowing them to commit genocide on the Aboleths of the Underdark and farm their children, creating the Esoteric Worms for Lurisia and the Illithids. This deal between the Lurisians and the Illithids was to be used along to the worms, and the idea was that the Lurisians would form an army of superhuman commoners to use against Pluvia. This plan was foiled when the Elder Brain was killed by Leos Whitewind, Dr Carl von Fink, Cayle Windwell, Elsa the Enigmatic and Elso the Enigmatic.
In the Motherland, the Queen has gathered all of the state wizards (such as Avery Trebbles, the Archmage of the Lurisian Citadel) to mass-produce Esoteric Worms (Aboleth maggots which enhance the senses of those who consume them) for her army, as they plan their westward expansion across the realm.
To move along the expansion of Lurisia, she ordered the death of Yaggmartokk, the Eye of Orc. For the mission, she sent her closest ally and lover Gretchen Ash (AKA the Sunday Knight), Dalotmag Umfloir of Ulvick (AKA the Maggot Knight), Sir Pepipan Chirole (AKA the Spice Knight) and the rogue Hylus Jonden. She gave specific orders to Ash to also eliminate the other group members, for still unknown reasons. The mission was a failure on both initial goals, as Balmon son of Yaggmartokk was killed instead, and the Sunday Knight only incapacitated the Maggot Knight and the rest got away unscathed. However, this operation still resulted in the Queen's original intent, which was to incite a war between Orchian and Lurisia. This war was eventually won by Lurisia, which has now moved in and expanded their borders up to the Green Highlands. Orchian is now a handful of reserves where the remaining orc populations are allowed to live, with heavy sanctions.
The Queen of Lurisia is after the Wilderman, who she believes stands in her way of claiming the lands of the Wilderness as her own. She used Elso the Enigmatic as an informant to spy on the Westward Fellowship, and sent her brother Lysarius Vandran to Greth Summit to hold the Zornish Monastery hostage in order to capture the Fellowship, learn what they have gathered about the Wilderman, and force them to serve her. However, the Fellowship was able to escape Lysarius using a Teleportation Circle, and fled to the Green Highlands. Elso the Enigmatic was also released from her service and given over to the Illithids, but he was able to escape and is now in Tellig Tulach's Getaway Village along with the others who defeated the Elder Brain.
Queen Alice Vandran was the one who initially hired the Jade Snakes to steal plans from the HOWL's Third Garrison, with the intention of gaining information about the Wilderman. She had lost many soldiers in the Wilderness because of the Wilderman, and some were even used as offering to him by Druids at the last Gathering. As the Jade Snakes' mission was foiled by Leos Greywind, Gareth Turnkey and Zeris Vlanir, she instead took a more direct approach and allowed her sister Rhea, the Queen of the Pluvia to the East, to seize control of the Third Garrison, and Tellig Tulach was deposed.
Recently, to speed along Lurisian expansion, the Queen of Lurisia ordered an attack on the Pluvian Embassy to the direct east of the Lurisian border, beginning a war between Lurisia and Pluvia.
