Cayle investigated the westward fellowship through conversation with the facade of being a starving and helpless young beggar.
He was trying to find out if this group knew Marvin Dulcimer, which he suspected they did since the start, and Opus pretty much told him what he wanted to know.
Cayle was introduced in Fallholt when the Westbound Fellowship (sans Marvin) came across him and his uncle Luciano Grandmoth. Cayle was secretly trying to find Marvin Dulcimer for his father, a "wraith" by Denmer Code standards. Since then, his uncle was killed by the dragon Saffron and his childhood friend Lily was killed by his uncle in a power play.
Cayle fled into the woods when gnolls attacked his village, and slept in a hollowed-out tree which had fallen over onto its side many years ago. After many days alone in the Wilderness, he came across a strange druidic shrine to a god he had never heard of, called Hemlock. He felt called towards the shrine, and once he got close enough, roots wrapped around his legs and kept him in place.
It was at that moment when he was granted an absurd amount of power he didn’t ask for, and was given the direct quest to find the shrines of the three missing druid groves and imbue them with divine energy, to call back the druids to their original purposes.
He since jointed Leos Whitewind, Carl von Fink, and Elsa the Enigmatic in their mission as his connected to theirs. After taking down several Mind Flairs and the Elder Brain, he had freed the druids and then moved on, with Hemlock allowing for Cayle to keep his magic.
If you have power, there is nobody who can tell you what to do. You are innately better than those who are without power.
My uncle was a horrible person, but he understood that those with power shouldn’t be idle with it. He also understood that the world is an awful place and you need extraordinary abilities to get by. I hate him for killing Lily, and for neglecting to teach me about the Denmer Code.
He is far too reckless with his newfound abilities, and will use them in any situation where he thinks it would be fun.
I need to finish this task for Hemlock, but not before I discover a loophole which would allow me to keep these powers. I also want to talk to Marvin Dulcimer so I can learn about the Denmer Code, since my uncle never got around to teaching me.
He is carefree and likes to poke fun at adults. He flaunts his power as often as he can, and is really not very responsible with it.
