A code of conduct or ideology which is taught in the Moray College Of Valor. This code covers several areas such martial combat, embracing your aptitudes, securing solidarity with allies, staying lawful to your ideals, and reincarnating after death.
The Denmer Code is a three-century-old ideology which is mainly found in Moray and its Isles. To some, the Denmer Code is a moral code but to others it is a strategy of combat. It was created by the Last Emperor of the Old Empire, Arium the Eternal, whose philosophy (unintentionally) stemmed from an understanding of one of the four divines, Logos.
The Denmer Code is most prominently practiced in Martial Colleges such as the “Moray College of Valor”
A political decision by Moray’s leaders caused the Denmer Code to be outlawed in Moray because it was seen as evil and a threat to the peace of Moray. This was likely due to the meddling of the Followers of Domecus. The Moray College of Valor was shut down because of this and all of the followers of the Denmer Code were scattered across the land.
Those who follow the Denmer Code call people who aren’t “Ignorants” and those who follow it but disobey the main rule are called “Wraiths”. However, it is written in the Last Archives that only Wraiths have been able to successfully reincarnate. A certain Wraith known as Dalton Grandmoth who is revered by Denmer Code followers was likely a heinous individual, but someone who was able to reincarnate later as a humanoid to get revenge on his murderer.
The Denmer Code is a Martial and Moral Code which Marvin Dulcimer and a group of people from Moray follow.
There are 4 leading tenets of the Denmer Code:
There is also a rule that is followed with ultimate seriousness across all who follow the Denmer Code:
All who disobey the rule above are seen as Wraiths.
Bravery:
You should never be afraid because death is not permanent.
Pragmatism:
You should never let your emotions cloud your judgement, yet utilizing the emotions of others can be the difference between a win or a loss.
Resourcefulness:
You should use everything you have at your disposal to help you in a fight, including your words.
Responsibility:
If there are weaker people who are in need of your help, your help is required.
