Florus grew up in a town in Zarkhin, learning to fight, and take up the role of city guard from his father who lived in the capital. A wandering knight from the capital took interest in Florus, asking him to accompany him so that Florus could fulfill his dream. He was enlisted as the youngest guard in the history of the capital. However, over the years that Zarkhin has existed, it's connection between power and religion has created corruption in the capital, which Florus had engraved in his mind early on. He grew up taking advantage of citizens using his power. This lead to Florus craving power insatiably, giving him quite a barbaric nature. He grew stronger over the years in the capital, so he demanded more power. He was eventually enlisted in a ranging party to "spread the word of Corrus", which meant forcing villages and towns into submission and taking over the place. As the party began to strong arm of the villages, a group of adventurers wandered into the village and dispatched Florus and his party. They were to be held prisoner at the Howl. The party struggled fruitlessly, but Florus struggled the longest and hardest, eventually tiring himself out. This is when one of the adventurers kindly provided food and water for a tired Florus. This action changed his perception of humanity just enough to make him stop struggling as they were whisked away to the Howl. During that time, Florus had many conversations with the adventurers, who changed his perspective little by little. Eventually they reached the Howl's garrison, and Florus pleaded with the Howl's commander directly to let him join the Howl and correct his mistakes. Thus, Florus became the fourth member of the group of adventurers, called the Merry Band, and later was nicknamed the Flower Knight for his kindness and gentle nature.
Florus has since joined the HOWL, fought the Wilderman, tried and failed to get the Merry Band back together after it broke up, knighted a fanboy of the Merry Band as the Baby Knight, and generally made the Wilderness a better place to live.
