i believe we are needlessly on the cliff

there are not too many people yet

there is not too few resources yet

what there is, is too much wastefulness in our world today

it mainly exists because our the economic model that exists today

btw the same one that has existed for the past several millenia

our economic system with its requirement of continual growth is the culprit

a system that asks everyone to keep doing more & more

to keep earn and accumulating more & more money & physical stuff

so what we have is a lot of needless consumption of natural resources

my guess is - all totalled - about 95% needless consumption

meaning we could be consuming only 5% of what we are today

and with this, we could create a sustainable long-term balance with our planet

next i will dig deeper into this waste
