so what did this discovery about happiness do for me
it helped me imagine and create better communication tools
it got me to focus on the tools themselves vs. the content
i knew i needed to help create better systems that would deliver better results
simply put - to help individuals find more happiness in their lives
here's the problem with most communication tools & systems today
they are mostly one-directional
meaning they make it really easy to initiate communication
but most fall short on helping you to get that even more important feedback
some other important discoveries about happiness related to the feedback...
the quicker the feedback the better = more happiness opportunity
and the more feedback the better = more happiness opportunity
especially getting more feedback from many different individuals
this vs. getting a lot of feedback from fewer individuals
these are very important when designing systems and tools
to dig into this deeper let's look closer at something i call the 'celebrity effect'
why does everyone want to be famous
and why do celebrities appear to be happier than everyone else
i believe the answer comes from them touching more people in the world
and in turn getting lots more timely feedback from others
maybe unknowingly celebs are fulfilling these hidden requirements of happiness
people respond or react to their communication attempts
