lessownership

    • in this improved future world i see a world where there is far less ownership of stuff

    • both the physical stuff & the virtual stuff

    • a big problem with the current model is all the problems that surround ownership

    • corporations are given ownership rights of lands, mineral rights, oil rights, etc.

    • someone thinks up (creates) something they are given ownership rights

    • someone has something slightly different & things get real messy fast

    • nations fight over territory ownership

    • everyone is so hung up on owning stuff

    • it really complicates life & creates tons of conflict issues

    • when we have a world that is concerned with the needs of future generations

    • then it makes far more sense to devalue the ownership of stuff

    • instead of owning stuff you might think that you are only a short-term temporary user

    • we know everyone dies & that the stuff is useless to you when you are dead

    • the issue has always been to leave stuff for your heirs

    • but when everyone is given for free essentially all the same stuff

    • now no one needs to leave their kids stuff

    • so then what becomes important is the rules

    • that determine who gets the temporary use of what

    • who gets to live where

    • who gets to use what dwelling

    • what happens to yours parent's things when they pass

    • who gets the antique chair your great grandfather made

    • i do not have all the answers right now

    • but these are far simpler questions than who gets the oil in the ground
