so then what defines if something is bad or good

perspective is very important here

who is making the assessment

scope is also very important

how exactly is the assessment subject considering the event

from the self perspective or from a much larger perspective

so the assessment subject can be an individual or a group

and the scope can be any from self to all that is (the universe or cosmos)

or many different scopes in between these two extremes

any event has the potential of being either good or bad

from any perspective or any scope
