(Full disclosure, I phoned this one in a bit)
Our Ed Tech Tidbit for February is .....
Notion
Notion is a productivity app that primarily serves teams. However, they have a personal plan version that helps you get organized, remember ideas, and track tasks! It has a ton of functionality, but let's look at how this could apply to educators and our students.
Notion for Students allows students to create an organized space for class notes, weekly agendas, tasks/projects/assignments, reading lists. and clubs. And it's free for students as long as they use their school email addresses when they sign up!
I actually learned about Notion because one of my students is using it! She submits assignments with this little checklist at the top and I wanted to see what it was all about. It seems to really help with the struggle that students are having in the digital space without the face-to-face check ins they're used to!
Notion for Teachers allows educators to create lesson plans, visualize their course/daily schedules, and make a visual class directory. And best of all, IT'S FREE as long as you use your school email! We even get an extra, unlimited personal version.
My favorite part is probably the progress boards. I used to use Kan Ban boards and it was hard to let it go. This is a nice replacement, allowing you to move tasks through progress trackers. It's like a multi-dimensional check list!
As always, let me know if you need anything! Miss you all!
