Thank you to everyone who came to our first Ed Tech Conference session this year! We were lucky to have Jordan there to lead us through some free online reading resources that can support our ELL students or any other student!
First up, we talked about Rewordify. This nifty tech tool has students copy and pasting content into the webpage. Rewordify then outputs the text with easier to understand words or phrases. Students can click on the "rewordified" text to learn the words they didn't know and to get definitions of words.
Next up, we talked about Common Lit. Common Lit is a resource of texts developed by teachers to support students' development of literacy. Common Lit has translation and read aloud available, too!
Jordan put together a quick presentation that goes over the pros and cons of these tools and shows some quick applications!
See you on October 15 when Sarah Mattioli and I talk to us about the current research around teens and social media!
