January sure flew by, huh? The countdown to Mid-Winter Break has begun (15 days) and we’re ready to tackle a new semester! I’m sure you’ve been waiting all morning for our February Tech Tidbit (drumroll…): Edpuzzle!
Edpuzzle is an video modification tool that you can use to make your videos a more interactive experience for students. When you choose a video, you are able to embed questions that students must answer before continuing through the video. You’re able to hold students accountable since Edpuzzle gives you information on how much time they spent, whether they watched the whole video, and how many times they watched each section!
Edpuzzle has a ton of flexibility in how you use it. You can make your own videos or choose existing videos on YouTube to add question to. It engages students with a medium they are familiar with, while adding depth to make sure they’re taking away what you’re hoping to teach them.
The grading process for Edpuzzle is very straight forward and streamlined for use on the computer or an app on your mobile device. You can quickly and painlessly grade questions with the click of a button!
You can even make the process easier by using the Chrome Extension. This adds a button to YouTube so you can jump start to process straight away!
Want to know more? Molly Petersen and Jamie Scordino will be reprising their Ed Tech Conference session at the February staff meeting – be sure to check it out!
Our Skyline Educational Technology Conference continues on Tuesday, February 27: We meet in Room 1115 from 3:15 – 4:30p and we will be hearing about Student Assessment with Socrative with Mercer DesHarnais. Best of all, you can get paid (check out the Tech Pay Tracker to see how many hours you have so far)!
Thanks for sticking with me through all of that! Please accept this adorable tiny turtle as a representation of what I feel like trying to get grades done this week! (And as always, click on it for a rather nerdy joke!)
