Please consider participating in this workshop if you:
Are a certified teacher at an ISD High School
Have one or more ELL students in your classes
Are willing to try using new strategies in your classroom
Teachers will learn practical strategies that engage English Language Learners (ELLs) as well as native English speakers in general education classes focusing on the ELA and Social Studies content areas. Participants will engage in classroom observations, differentiate instructional strategies, and have work time to apply their learning. They will learn how to support ELL students in completing challenging tasks and projects using GLAD, ELL, and other research-based culturally responsive instructional strategies. Teachers will understand their students’ levels of language acquisition and how to modify instruction and assignments so students have access to the content.
Trainings will be held from 7:40 am – 3:10 pm on:
October 31, 2019
November 1, 2019
November 7, 2019
November 8, 2019
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Tricia Cecil. If you are interested in applying for this workshop and can attend all four sessions, please fill out this Google Form by Friday, September 30th. Notification of acceptance will be sent out by October 7th.
