How often have you wanted to take a field trip, but haven’t because of the paperwork? How often have you wanted a guest speaker, but you couldn’t find/afford one? Well, with Skype in the Classroom we have a new way to make those things work in your classroom a lot easier than the old school way!
Skype in the Classroom has lots of exciting ways to enhance your curriculum. You can have an expert teach a lesson to your class, you can invite a guest speaker to share about a topic, you can take a virtual field trip with a tour guide, you can have your class collaborate with another class somewhere else in the world, and more!
Julie Hembre (the librarian at Cougar Ridge) is our Skype ambassador. She’ll be leading a training(s) about Skype in the Classroom this year, so keep an eye out for the announcement on the BNP blog! And if you want to jump in before, just shoot me an email and we can get you started!
Just a couple reminders:
Don’t forget to put our Ed Tech Conference into your calendars so you can earn your tech pay! You can track your tech hours here and you can register for the class on PD Place here.
Our first session was a smash hit! Check out the highlights in our last blog entry.
Don’t forget to sign into Kyte Learning before October 13! This is a competition between the schools in the district for a prize from the Ed Tech department! I have attached a documentshowing you how to register for and login to Kyte Learning.
PHEW! That was a lot of information! Thanks for sticking with me! As a reward, here’s a cute sea lion (some of you caught my email typo that said red panda...) with a hyperlink to a joke. As always, if you have any questions, please let me know!
