Hope this email finds you well. Here are some resources and updates from the March Building and District Equity Meetings.
District Meeting updates : Gender Inclusivity
With the writing and passing in some cases of bills in Florida and Texas (and several other states) there is some of anxiety and heightened attention to LGBTQIA2S+ communities. At the meeting, the ISD and OSPI’s policies in reference to personal pronouns and gender inclusivity were reiterated. Links are District and State.

Resources : US Timeline 2000-2020 ( attachment) is a cool classroom resource : a list of major events that might have impacted students in our community. The key take away was an event that did not impact most people in a community might have had a deep impact on another person (example: events in lives of immigrants /political landscape of country of origin). Students can add their own experience to this list and educate others.
