Thanks to my 25 wonderful special education colleagues who joined us this afternoon for our first every ETKO Special (Ed) Pre - Game Extravaganza!
We has a great day learning about technologies that could help enhance our practice working with our students. First up, Stephanie Olson taught us about Actively Learn which can help us support our students who struggle with reading or comprehension. It also allows us to differentiate, chunk text, annotate tough spots, add questions to help students process the material, and accommodate your students with dyslexia! It's a wonderful, district supported tool. Check out Stephanie's presentation here.
Next, Stephanie shared wizer.me with us. This wonderful tech tool lets you create interactive, fun worksheets for students. Not just that, but there's also a wonderful resource library that you can access to get started! wizer.me makes differentiation easier, too! Check out Stephanie's presentation here.
Jenny Godley shared Seesaw with us. Make a journal for your classroom that has everything in one place! It lets you push out information to students, get feedback and work from students, have students give each other feedback, and you can even get parents involved with it, too! Check out Jenny's presentation here.
Next, Kristie Bennett shared Ed Puzzle with us. This tech tool lets you make kid's favorite medium less passive: YouTube! You're able to upload your own videos or pick something from YouTube. Then you add in some questions to make sure that students are getting important information and getting the big idea. Check out Kristie's presentation here.
We also had a quick overview of a few other tools that might help you in your practice! Check out Kristie's presentation on the Special Ed Tech Tool Kit here.
Thanks again for everyone who joined us today!
