A group of students from GSA shared their experiences with Staff and Admin at the Building Meeting. Concerns and ideas that we can work on to make Skyline a safer place for all students were discussed.
ISD Land Acknowledgement PD opportunity : Participants earn 3 Cultural Competency Clock hours.
ISD Land Acknowledgment is now available for access on Staff Hub at: https://staff.issaquah.wednet.edu/departments/tls/student-support/land-acknowledgement. If you are interested in learning more on Land Acknowledgements, PD opportunities with dates are listed below via Zoom. Type in Course #11395 in True North Logic to pull up all three sessions. You need to sign up for each session separately or sign up only for the ones you can attend.
November 9th- 4pm-5pm Land Acknowledgement: what is it, why we do it, what more we can do.
December 7th- 4pm-5pm ISD Land Acknowledgement: introduction, why we started with a visual, how often, where, practice time, application with curriculum
January 25th- 4pm-5pm Tribal Sovereignty: What does it mean to be sovereign? How this affects our history, current and future lives.

As a friendly reminder, when sending newsletters or emails to families with attachments, please post the item as a Word document or a link to your OneDrive Word document. Information shared as a pdf is NOT accessible for translation.
Word documents can be accessed using Immersive Reader, a resource that can translate the document and read it to the person. Immersive Reader also allows families to change the font for visual needs. The Family Partnership Team has resources in multiple languages to teach families how to use Immersive reader and access newsletters. The newsletter has multiple resources for Translation and Interpretation service.
