html
If you know any HTML you can use it to do
formating when you comment, but, first a
thorny issue solved . . .
Here's my template for a haiku layout in a profile comment
REPLY :
a statement
snipped in three and stacked
vertically
— jp
NOTE
Unless I find a workaround, this is how to lay down a haiku when you initiate a Latest Activity comment on your profile page (it won't accept HTML in the main post). Simply say; "a haiku" (or whatever). THEN post and reply to your own comment by entering your haiku with HTML thus :
line 1
line 2
line 3
— name*
*If you add an extra 'br' you can drop the name down another line (see first example) - this is how to add extra line breaks. I've added 3 'br' to drop the haiku below the logo pic :
More simple HTML
NOTE
It's a good idea to keep these snippets of code on a text file for easy access.
You can do much more, but this covers the basics for a comment. When we blog there's the format toolbar, of course. You could lay out your comment in a draft blog, grab the code from the HTML option and copy/paste into a comment of your choice. Have two tabs open on your browser, one for blog, one for comment page, or use a text file as a stepping stone. You could also use this : http://www.veign.com/tools/easy-html-editor !
Don't be put of by HTML, it isn't hard (once you get into it) and can be a lot of fun!
Any questions? Just ask . . .
