Myth

Many ideas come in response to this nicely produced, albeit populist, video offering

Here's a couple. . . .

The first would be to make the point that myth is figurative ritual. A methodology of harnessing picture language (that most ancient of languages, prior to modern symbolic thought; shelled, as it is, in words and math and so on).

So, yes, mythic codes have their healing application and yet...so much more.

Another idea (a self-evident truth some may recoil from, but which serves as a reason for applied suffering) is that when we cause pain (through malice or survival), then this also triggers the healing cycle. . . .

Thus may we understand the darkness, in it's God-given, seamless profundity.

NOTE: The practice of proper haiku employs a correct ritual which produces instrumental integration and evolutionary enlightenment. The practice of wrong haiku employs an incorrect ritual which will cause harm (and this, in turn, generates a cycle of healing...and so on). Thus is the immaculate nature of the mystery of being, which we find ourselves enbroiled in, here on the ground; here in the land of mixed feelings.

"A high priest says: "A superficial knowledge of Zen causes great harm." I appreciate his comment" - Basho
