< Left : I (RC) have a small wooden barrel (about 30mm diameter x 40mm high) with a metal plate inscribed "From the teak of HMS Valiant Jutland 1916”
I am not sure where this came from but it may have been bought by a relative perhaps not realising that William Clarke Hunt was on HMS Invincible and not HMS Valiant ?
However - his wife's uncle William Crombleholme [247] did serve on an earlier ship of the same name in 1880
