Below : Extract of OS map showing Templecombe, Somerset and Pelsham Farm near Buckhorn Weston in Dorset
Pelsham Farm is a Grade II Listed Building (RCHM Dorset, Vol IV, p8 No 3) - described as a C17th farmhouse with the rear wing probably being of an earlier build that main range.
[1] Mary Cromleholme's father, Richard Bury owned property in this parish. He had done very well out of the civil war (1642-1651). An indication of his wealth is given in Charters 691/2 where he leased 'Court Farm' in the parish of Buckhorne Weston Dorset for £1,100 and many other lands for 99 years. He had died in 1662 - his debt of £300 to Samuel Cromleholme does not appear to have ever been paid back.
Both Court Farm & Pelsham Farm names exist today near to the village itself.
