They lived in Catterall (Garstang) He was a carpenter's apprentice in 1741 and became a carpenter. Children : 226-230+460. He died in 1788 in Barnacre.

Note (by MM) : The name Townshend appears to be a mistake. There is a marriage record for Dorothy C. and Richard COUNSEL for 1797, also with David C. (brother?) as a witness.  Richard Counsel had previously been married to Mary ___?;  they had a son Laurence in 1795. Presumably both mother and son died and he then married Dorothy. Their son Laurence in the above baptism record died in 1814, aged 15.
