SR 1 : 1839 Elizabeth Crombleholme [Cro0155] of Salford (widow - of Richard C [Cro0154] (see will SR 4)

Will made 27th November 1834 ; She died 28th February 1839; Proved 31st August 1839

Daughter Anne (Kirton) [Cro0206] & Mary [Cro0210] now wife of John Bone & Elizabeth C [Cro0208] (SR 2)

SR 2 : 1834 Elizabeth Crombleholme [Cro0208] of Manchester (spinster)

Will made 22nd July 1827  She died 2nd June 1834  Proved 27th November 1834

Executors : Her mother Elizabeth C [Cro0155] (SR1) and sister Mary C [Cro0210] (= before she married J. Bone).     Estate valued under £300


SR 3 : 1820 Thomas Crombleholme [Cro0207] of Manchester (Cotton Merchant)

Will made 1st January 1820   He died 5th January 1820  Proved 15th December 1820

Estate to be equally divided between brothers & sisters (except Anne [Cro0206] now wife of Samuel Kirton  - very strong terms used here - wholly debarred and excluded ! - See also SR 4 below).

His son Thomas C -[Cro00   ]  a minor.

Executors : Henry Tomilson of Chester, mercer and Richard Crombleholme [Cro0209] of Manchester, cotton merchant (fell off horse and was killed in 1821 ??)

 Witness : Joseph Crompton   Estate value £60

(Note Thomas C [207] b 1791 d 1820 s/o Richard C [154]  of Crombleholme & Crompton.

                    

SR 4 : 1815 Richard Crombleholme [Cro0154] of Salford (Fustian* manufacturer)  Manchester Entrepreneurs

* Fustian - thick coarse wooden cloth usually dyed a dark colour

Will made 7th October 1814;  He died 27th June 1815;  Proved 29th August 1815

Left estate in trust to son Thomas C [Cro0207]  (SR 3 above) , my friend Henry Tomilinson & my wife Elizabeth C  (nee Bradshaw) [Cro0155] (Will SR 1) for equal division between my children except that Ann [Cro0159]  - now wife of Samuel Kirton shall have £1500 deducted (a sum already advanced to Samuel Kirton). Will is quite complex and mentions freehold estates and his business interest (ie Crombleholme & Crompton) which shall continue to run if  judged best course of action by his trustees / executors. At probate estate valued at £5000. 

                    

SR 5 : 1815 Thomas Crombleholme [Cro0568] of Manchester (Coachman) 

Died intestate 31st October 1815. Administration granted 6th November 1815 to his widow  Ann Crombleholme (nee Burgess) [Cro0569]  Estate amounted to £1000. No children noted.

Note :  Thomas C [568] married Ann (nee Burgess) [569] in 1802 in Wilmslow, Cheshire. 

Their children : John C [570] b 1804 d 1811 (killed by a horse); Anna Marie C [583] b 1806;               Catherine C [ 1046]  b 1806;  Richard C [1047] b1808;  Thomas C [1048] b1812. 


SR 6 : 1778  Agnes Cromleholme [Cro0520] of Liverpool (widow) 

Will made 26th April 1777; she died  ??   Proved 13th July 1778

Husband =  William  Crombleholme [Cro0519]  d before 1777 (note nee Baygott)

Estate to give annual income to her sister Elizabeth McAwly 

also left her other goods now in Templand nr Cartmell Lancs; Property in King Street Liverpool mentioned

Left sums to sons of Richard Harrison of Bankfield & Bourne family

SR 7 : 1700 Richard Crombleholme [Cro0043]  Billington (Husbandman*)

(*Husbandman - tenant farmer as distinct from yeoman)

Will made 18th January 1698  He died     Proved 30th April 1700

Bequests all to wife Elizabeth [Cro0044]  was also executor.

Signed by Richard - no estate value given. No Children noted.


SR 8 : 1683 Margaret Crombleholme [Cro00   ] of Wiswall  - This Will not located as yet 


SR 9 : 1653 Robert Crombleholme of Aighton (Tailor)[Cro0039] 

[ref Brent 394* -Commonwealth period]   Copy of will transcribed by Marjorie Pollard in 1981

 Will made 24th June 1652   He died :     ?          Administration granted September 1653

 Burial at discretion of executors; Executor : Roger Wynkley of Horrocks in Aighton.

 Witnesses : Thomas Wynkley, Edward Wynkley & Edmund Wynkley.

 Bequests :  To brother John C [Cro0038] £20; To William [Cro0040] & Richard[Cro0036] sons[Cro0043+45] of John  £5 each.

To elder daughter of John C[Cro0046] : 50s; Younger daughter of John[Cro0047] : £3

To George C[Cro0048] & 2 of the  daughters  [Cro0050+51]  the late brother William C[Cro0040] £3 each

To John C [Cro0052]  the other son of late brother William 50s.

To Margaret[Cro0042] his sister £5 - Roger Parker his brother in law not gainsay (deny) this.

To children of Roger Wynkley of Horrocks Aighton (Thomas, Edward, Mary, Alice & Eliz) 40s each.

To Katherine, now wife of said Thomas Wynkley and Roger his son £5 each

SR9a  : 1649 :   Margaret Crombleholme [Cro0655] of Welch Whittle Lancs (near Euxton) 

Will made 6th October 1649 (Proved 1651 ??)

This was not listed in the South of Ribble wills - perhaps because of the Civil War / Commonwealth Period ?             (Source : Soc of Geneologists Great Card Index - Register Grey 1651 For 173 2503 HRP 3/20)

SR 10 : 1647 Thomas Crombleholme [Cro0041]  Clayton (parish of Leyland) Blacksmith

Will made 15th January 1644  He died       Proved 1647

Bequests : To Ann Gerrard d/o John Gerrard of Clayton £5 

To his brothers John [Cro0038] & Robert [Cro0039] - all the rest of goods to be divided between rest of brothers & sisters  [Cro0036 +37 + 41 +42]  as they see fit.  

Executors : John & Robert C

Supervisor John Gerrard;   Witnesses : Raphe Sharrocks & John Gerrard.


SR 11 : 1618  William Crombleholme [Cro0060]  Euxton  (See research on his life (ie Tower London etc !:  William Crombleholme )

Will made 6th April 1618 - see copy of actual doc in above research.

SR 12 : 1614 John Cromleholme [Cro0018] of Lowdmythorne Yeoman (Inventory only - will ?? )

Inventory made 2nd April 1614. 

Made by Henrie Richmond, Gentleman; John Parker, yeoman; James Parker, yeoman and George Cromleholme * husbandman

A long & interesting inventory (RC has transcription) Several debts due including one from George Cromleholme [Cro0029 ??]  Burholme  and on the next line George Cromleholme (presumed * above).  Total goods etc amounts to £317   5s   1d.

SR 13 : 1597 Ann Chrombleholme [Cro0028]  Lowdmythorne (widow)

Oldest family will found : A nuncupative will : (a will not written but declared verbally)                

Made : 12th February 1594             Proved : 1597

Burial - wished to be buried in Chipping Churchyard with her husband (he is not known) (Note perhaps Richard [23] or Thomas [24])

Children :    

Richard [Cro0032]  left a great ark that he had helped to make; 

Cislye [Cro0031]  left a great ark; Alice [Cro0030]  goods to the value of an ark

Left residue to by divided equally amongst them (and three ... ?   [Cro0033 +34+35])
