Weymouth, Dorset Families

Our Weymouth families descend from William Crombleholme [Cro0162] of Frome, Somerset, who as a young man moved from Lancashire (c1805). His son Richard Crombleholme [Cro0241] moved in Weymouth in the 1840's. We appear to have spelt our name Crumbleholme from the late C19th.

My own family moved from Lancashire in the early 1800's to Frome in Somerset and then to Weymouth in Dorset in the 1840's. Please use the left hand sub menus or the highlighted links below.

Richard Crombleholme [Cro0241] (1811-1880) : son of William Crombleholme [Cro0162] of Frome (1788-1828) who had been born in Lancashire and moved to Wiltshire / Somerset in the early 1800's. Richard Crombleholme married a Weymouth girl and moved there in the later 1840's.

Richard Crumbleholme [Cro0245] (1850-1909) : son of Richard Crombleholme [Cro0241] who was born in Weymouth and founded R.Crumbleholme & Son of Weymouth (see below) in 1889. His brother William Crombleholme [Cro0247] (1853-1884) joined the Royal Navy as a young man and his family settled in South Petherton, Somerset.

Harry Crumbleholme [248] (1873-1959) : Eldest son of Richard Crumbleholme [Cro0245] who became a Headmaster in London before retiring to Weymouth. It was Harry's notes on the family that started my research.

William Clarke Crumbleholme [Cro0250] (1877-1973) : Second son of Richard Crumbleholme [Cro0245] - My grandfather who joined his father in the family company.

Richard Albert "Dick" Crumbleholme [Cro0254] (1916-1998) : Son of William Clarke Crumbleholme [Cro0250].
